Overview

A Guardian is an independent combat companion with its own HP, MP, XP, Satiety, equipment and skills. Only one Guardian can be active at a time, and Guardians are unavailable during PvP events.

The Guardian management window does not appear in the general menu. It can only be opened through the Guardian HUD while a Guardian is summoned.

No XP loss on death: a defeated Guardian can be summoned again without losing experience.

Obtaining a Guardian

First Guardian at Level 70

A one time mission becomes available at level 70 and awards the first Guardian. The player can choose one of four options:

Available choices: Wolf, Dragon, Tiger or Hawk.

Beoro Guardians at Level 76+

Additional Guardians can be obtained from the Beoro dungeon after reaching level 76:

Beoro Guardians: Buffalo, Kookaburra and Fox.
Choose the first Guardian carefully: the level 70 reward is one time. Compare combat style and weapon requirements before confirming the selection.

Guardian XP and Leveling

The Guardian receives additional XP according to the percentage of damage it deals to the defeated monster. This experience does not reduce the XP awarded to the character.

RuleEffect
Damage contributionMore Guardian damage results in more additional XP for the Guardian.
Level differenceKeep the Guardian and monster within the allowed 11 level range.
Bee HiveGuardians receive a special buff that increases their earned XP while farming there.
Chapter 2 limitThe current maximum Guardian level is 84.
Guardian XP is extra: a strong Guardian levels faster because its XP scales with its damage contribution, without taking any experience from the character.

Satiety, Potions and Automatic Use

SatietyResult
